Soft Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk mixed with 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream together the softened margarine, sugar and vanilla.
    Add beaten egg and mix well!
    In another bowl mix together 1 1/4 cups flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add these dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk mixed with baking soda.
    Mix well! Add another 1 1/2 cups flour to make a soft dough.
    Chill overnight, covered.
    Roll 1/4 inch thick on floured surface.
    Cut and sugar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
    Store covered to stay soft.
