Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried lentils
    4 qt. water
    3 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. bacon, cubed
    3 chopped carrots
    1 chopped onion
    3 cloves minced garlic
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. thyme
    3/4 lb. chopped potatoes
    1 tsp. coriander
    juice of half lemon
    1/2 lb. spinach
    grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
Preparation
    Place lentils in water with salt and cook over medium heat for about 1/2 hour (while preparing vegetables).
    Skim the film that develops at the top of the water.
