Boiled Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. hot water
    4 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 tsp. coconut extract (optional)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cream of tartar, salt and water in a heavy saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until clear. Cook over medium heat without stirring to soft boil stage (240\u00b0). Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until soft peaks form. Continue to beat, slowly adding syrup mixture.
