Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar, vanilla and unbeaten egg; beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add it, along with nuts, to sugar mixture. Shape into a large roll.
    Chill several hours, overnight or up to a week.
    Slice and bake at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 7 minutes.
    Makes about 3 or 4 dozen.
