Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. small cucumbers
    8 small onions
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    5 c. sugar
    5 c. cider vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    2 green peppers, cut in strips
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 bag ice
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers; cut into strips.
    Combine cucumbers, onions, peppers and salt.
    Mix with 1 quart of crushed ice.
    Let stand for 3 hours, drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Put all ingredients in a big pot and bring to a boil. Pack in jars and seal at once.
