Spiced Pumpkin Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 c. canned or mashed cooked pumpkin
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon powder
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg powder
    1/4 tsp. ginger powder
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0 (190\u00b0C).
    Grease 12-muffin pan.
    Cream together the sugar and shortening, working it until light and fluffy.
    Add egg to the mixture and beat.
    Add pumpkin to mixture; mix again until combined well.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
    Add this dry mixture alternately with milk to the pumpkin mixture until all ingredients are stirred in. Beat well after each addition.
    Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake on center shelf for about 25 minutes, or until done.
    Makes 12 small or 10 medium muffins.
