Yellow Cabbage Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 lb. cabbage, chopped fine
    1 pt. salt
    3 pt. vinegar
    3 pt. sugar
    3 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. black pepper
    2 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Add the salt to the cabbage and let stand overnight.
    Then drain as dry as you can and cover with cold water for 15 minutes. Drain and press cabbage as dry as possible.
    Make syrup of the next 6 ingredients. Let all this come to a boil and pour over cabbage.
    Mix well and pack in jars; seal.
