Basic Ham And Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans Great Northern beans, drained
    1 ham hock
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1/2 stalk celery, chopped
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 tsp. ground white pepper
    2 c. chopped ham
    4 c. hot water or chicken broth
Preparation
    Bring broth, or water, to a boil and add beans, ham bone, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, mustard and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 60 minutes. Remove ham bone and discard. Stir in chopped ham and simmer 30 more minutes. Season with ground white pepper to taste.
