Russian Potato Pancakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Russet potatoes, peeled and soaked in salt water
    1 egg
    1/2 c. plus 4 Tbsp. flour
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. oil
    grated onion to taste
Preparation
    Grate potatoes fine.
    Combine all ingredients.
    Fry in 1/16-inch oil until golden brown and crisp, 3 to 4 minutes each side.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Serve with sour cream, applesauce and/or grape jelly.
