Boiled Pear Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (29 oz.) can pear halves, drained
    3 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. heavy or whipped cream
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Preheat broiler.
    Pat pears dry on paper towel.
    Cut pears into 1/2-inch slices.
    Put in 9-inch pie plate.
    Sprinkle with brown sugar and dot with butter.
    Broil 4 inches from heat source for 5 minutes.
    Combine cream and vanilla.
    Pour over pears. Broil 5 minutes or until sauce is golden and bubbly.
