Christmas Oyster Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. shucked oysters with juice
    1 c. milk
    1 c. half and half
    generous dash of white or black pepper
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Slowly heat oysters and butter in saucepan until edges of oysters start to curl.
    At the same time, heat milk and half and half in another pan until small bubbles start to form around outside edge of milk.
    (Do not boil.)
    Combine milk, pepper and oysters and heat through.
    (Do not boil.)
    Salt to taste and serve with crackers.
