Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced (2 1/2 c.)
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 (11 oz.) can whole kernel corn
    1 (8 3/4 oz.) can cream-style corn
    1 can evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. oleo
    a little chili powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Bring potatoes, onion and water to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes, stirring once or twice until potatoes are tender.
    Stir in rest of ingredients.
    Simmer, uncovered, 3 to 5 minutes for flavor to develop.
    Add ham or tuna, if desired.
