7 Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 medium head lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1/2 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen green peas
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 c. shredded mild Cheddar cheese
    4 strips bacon, crisp cooked and chopped, or 1/4 c. bacon bits
Preparation
    In large bowl, arrange lettuce, pepper, onion and peas in layers.
    Spread mayonnaise evenly over peas.
    Sprinkle sugar, then cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Sprinkle with bacon just before serving.
