Baked Indian Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk (cold)
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. molasses
    3 large Tbsp. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald 3 cups milk.
    Mix the egg, molasses, 1 cup cold milk and cornmeal into remaining ingredients. Add to the scalded milk and cook over hot water until thick.
    Pour into baking dish and bake in slow oven (approximately 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0) for 2 hours.
    Serve with cream or hard sauce.
