Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

50 medium to small firm cukes, sliced
5 large white onions, sliced
1 chopped green pepper
1 chopped red pepper
1/2 c. coarse pickling salt
5 c. (5 %) cider vinegar
5 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
-
Place vegetables in kettle.
Sprinkle on salt. Place 5 trays of ice on top of vegetables.
Wait 3 to 4 hours.
