Grandmother'S Mandel Brot - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. oil (scant)
    3 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 heaping c. finely chopped nuts
    1 c. chocolate chips or raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Beat sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla with mixer.
    Combine flour, baking powder, salt and nuts.
    Add to wet mixture.
    Store in refrigerator 4 hours or overnight until firm.
    Knead by hand, using a bit of flour.
    Make 4 strips by dividing dough into 4 parts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or longer until golden.
