Creamy Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. top milk
    3 c. confectioners sugar
    vanilla
    nuts
Preparation
    Melt sugar in heavy saucepan until medium brown.
    Stir.
    Scald milk with butter and blend with sugar.
    Cook until smooth, remove from fire.
    Add sugar and beat until all is used.
    Add vanilla and sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
