Ingredients

1 c. raisins
2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. each: cinnamon, allspice, cloves and soda
Preparation

Cook raisins in water until 1 cup of juice is left.
When juice is still warm, add the remaining ingredients.
Mix all together and bake in a flat 1/2-inch thick pan at 350\u00b0 for about 15 minutes.
Spread with powdered sugar frosting and sprinkle with walnuts before cutting into squares.
