Ingredients

4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift together all dry ingredients.
Add water to the raisins and boil for 5 minutes or until decreased to 1/2 cup of water. Cream the shortening and sugar and blend well.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add vanilla, nuts and cooled raisins.
Drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
