Spicy Tortilla Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 large onion, chopped
1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 corn tortillas, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato puree
1 qt. chicken broth
1/2 Tbsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf
1/16 tsp. ground red pepper
2 corn tortillas
vegetable oil
1 lb. skinned, boned chicken breast halves, cut into strips
1 avocado, peeled, seeded and cubed
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add chopped onion and process until smooth.
Measure 1/2 cup onion puree and set aside; reserve any remaining puree for other uses.
