Banana Tea Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. mashed bananas
    nuts (add if desired)
Preparation
    Sift first 4 ingredients together.
    Beat shortening until creamy.
    Add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add dry mix alternately with bananas, small amount at a time, beating until smooth.
    Add nuts, if desired. Turn into well-greased loaf pan.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 about 1 hour and 10 minutes, until done.
    (Makes 1 loaf.)
