Ambrosia Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    2 tsp. coconut extract
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. freshly squeezed orange juice
    1 c. coconut (not fresh or frozen)
Preparation
    Grease and flour a 10 inch tube or Bundt pan. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, shortening and sugar. Beat until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the coconut extract and beat well. In medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
    Stir to mix.
    Add to the batter alternately with the orange juice, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Stir in the coconut. Pour into the prepared pan and place pan in a COLD oven. Set the temperature to 325 degrees. Bake for 1 hour 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into center of cake. Turn out of pan immediately.
