Cream Cheese Cake - cooking recipe

8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) oleo
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsps. vanilla
4 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. or 8 oz. candied fruit (red and green show up best)
1/2 c. chopped pecans to be added to batter plus
1/4 to 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts to put in the bottom of the cake pan.
Preparation

Mix together cream cheese, oleo, sugar and vanilla.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well each time.
Sift 2 c. of flour with baking powder and gradually add to first mixture.
Flour the fruit and nuts with the remaining 1/4 c. and fold into batter.
Sprinkle bottom of pan with finely chopped nuts.
Bake in a well greased and floured pan at 300-325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
(Start testing for doneness after the first hour.)
Use tube or Bundt pan.
