Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. dates, quartered
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. walnuts
Preparation
-
Pour boiling water over dates, shortening, sugar and salt; let cool.
Add remaining ingredients and beat by hand with wooden spoon.
Pour into greased and floured bread pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/4 hours.
