Federal Bread(This Is A Civil War Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. lemon extract
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add vanilla, lemon extract and eggs. Beat well.
Stir in flour, soda and buttermilk.
Batter is very stiff.
Place in greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 to 55 minutes.
Serve warm.
