Queen O'Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. honey (molasses or corn syrup may be substituted)
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    2 well beaten eggs
    3 c. cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream shortening, vanilla, honey and sugar.
    Add eggs; beat thoroughly.
    Add sifted ingredients alternately with milk.
    Pour into 2 wax paper-lined pans.
    Bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes.
