Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine (1 stick)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nut meats (walnuts or pecans)
Preparation

Cream butter or margarine and sugar.
Beat in egg; add vanilla.
Measure and sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Sift dry ingredients into butter mixture.
Add chopped nut meats. Form into long roll (roll in wax paper) and chill for at least 3 hours.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Dough keeps well 4 to 6 days.
