1 lb. dates
1/4 lb. (4 oz.) candied cherries
4 oz. candied pineapple
4 oz. shelled almonds
4 oz. shelled Brazil nuts
1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
Preparation

Discard date pits and cut dates in chunks; cut candied cherries in quarters.
Slice pineapple in thin slivers; blanch the almonds, chop them coarsely and toast until golden.
Chop Brazil nuts.
Sift flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together.
