White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    2/3 c. Crisco
    2 c. scalded milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    7 to 9 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald milk; add Crisco, sugar and salt.
    Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.
    Add milk mixture and egg; add enough flour to make soft dough.
    Beat with mixer until dough looks elastic.
    By hand, add enough flour to make stiff dough.
    Knead until smooth.
    Put in greased bowl; turn and grease top.
    With kitchen fork, punch 8 holes in the dough.
    Cover and let rise until doubled, about 2 hours.
    Shape dough into 3 loaves. Brush tops with melted butter.
    Cover and let rise until doubled. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
