Spanish Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. gelatin
    3 c. milk
    3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald milk with gelatin and sugar added.
    Add egg yolks and cook until
    mixture coats spoon.
    Beat egg whites until stiff. After removing custard from heat, fold in egg whites, salt and vanilla.
    Pour into a dish to set.
    Serve plain, with vanilla sauce or whipped cream.
