Smoked Eel Stew Of The Northeast Tribes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 1/2 lb.) smoked eel, cut into 2-inch pieces
    4 potatoes, washed but not peeled
    4 yellow onions, peeled
    6 c. water
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Simmer all together in a large heavy kettle for about 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender.
    Skim off excess fat.
    Serve hot.
