Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. milk (if necessary)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg; beat well.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to cream mixture. Mix well.
Shape mixture into rolls, 1 1/2-inch in diameter, on Saran Wrap.
Wrap and seal ends.
Chill several hours or overnight.\tSlice thin and bake on greased cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Makes three to four dozen cookies.
