Ingredients

4 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. almond flavoring
8 c. flour (all-purpose)
4 tsp. baking powder
4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and flavorings together.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.
Chill. Scoop cookies onto baking sheet.
Flatten each cookie with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
You may also add chocolate chips, pecans, 1 cup coconut and raisins.
