Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
1 c. margarine (2 sticks)
1 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. corn oil
1 c. coconut
1 large egg
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts (if desired)
Preparation

Just put all ingredients into a large bowl and mix until well blended.
Be sure margarine is soft (not melted).
(Do not use butter.)
Chill 1 hour, then form balls and flatten with a sugared glass (flat bottom) dipped in granulated sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Watch closely.
