Ozarkain Taffy Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. cream
    2 Tbsp. butter
    6 apples
    6 wooden skewers
Preparation
    Melt 1/2 cup of sugar over direct flame, add boiling water and cook to a smooth syrup.
    In a separate pan, cook the cream with remaining sugar and butter to soft ball stage.
    Combine the 2 syrups until drops of syrup will form hard ball when dropped into cold water.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Place apples on skewers.
    Dip into caramel syrup.
    Dip into ice water immediately to harden the caramel.
