Quiche Lorraine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pastry for 9-inch one-crust pie
    12 slices bacon (about 1/2 lb.), crisply fried and crumbled
    1 c. shredded natural Swiss cheese (about 4 oz.)
    1/3 c. minced onion
    4 eggs
    2 c. whipping cream or light cream (20%)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. cayenne red pepper
Preparation
    Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Prepare pastry.
    Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion in pastry lined pie pan.
    Beat eggs slightly; beat in remaining ingredients.
    Pour cream mixture into pie pan.
    Bake for 15 minutes.
    Reduce oven temperature to 300\u00b0; bake 30 minutes longer, or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
    Serve in wedges.
    Makes 6 main dish servings (8 appetizer servings).
