Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. hot water
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar, egg and molasses.
    Sift flour, salt and spices together and stir into molasses mixture, alternately with hot water and baking soda mixture.
    Chill dough thoroughly.
    Drop by teaspoon about 2 inches apart on slightly greased baking sheet.
    Bake about 8 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Cover the tops with frosting while still warm.
