Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter and powdered sugar.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
Chill dough.
These can be rolled for cutouts or used in cookie press.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until lightly brown.
