Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cans minced clams
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. diced celery
    3 c. diced potatoes
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. flour
    1 qt. half and half
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Put onion, celery, potatoes and clams (with juice) in large pot.
    Cook until tender, about 20 minutes.
    In microwave, melt butter.
    Add flour and stir until you have a smooth paste.
    Slowly add 1/2 cup half and half into flour/butter mixture.
    Stir into vegetables slowly.
    Add remaining half and half and the salt, sugar and pepper.
