Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. nuts
2 Tbsp. oil
1 to 2 Tbsp. water
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg and almond extract.
Sift in dry ingredients.
Add oil and water.
Add nuts.
This makes a stiff dough.
Divide dough into 3 logs and place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 26 to 29 minutes at 350\u00b0, until lightly browned.
Remove from oven and slice diagonally into 3/8-inch pieces.
Toast again, if you prefer a crisp cookie.
(If dough seems too creamy, drop by teaspoons onto ungreased sheet; if watching sugar content, decrease sugar to 1/2 cup.)
