Ingredients

1 3/4 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour.
Cream butter and sugar; add egg and vanilla.
Add all dry ingredients.
Roll out 1/8-inch thick on floured breadboard.
Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 12 minutes (or until lightly brown).
Makes 3 to 4 dozen cookies.
