Macaroons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 c. rolled oats
Preparation
    Combine and beat thoroughly the first 7 ingredients.
    Stir in walnuts, flour and soda (sifted together).
    Blend.
    Add rolled oats and mix well.
    Measure out 1 level tablespoon of dough on greased baking sheet, leaving space between.
    Press with fork. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Cool 2 minutes before removing from sheet.
    Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
