Pasta E Fagioli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1 clove crushed garlic
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 lb. can Italian tomatoes (undrained)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1 Tbsp. salt in 1 1/2 qt. boiling water
    1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. small tubular pasta (ditalini; 2 c. cooked)
    15 oz. can cannellini beans
    grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    In hot oil in 5-quart Dutch oven or heavy kettle, saute garlic and onion, stirring until golden, about 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, 1 teaspoon salt, the pepper, oregano and parsley. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes; mash tomatoes.
