Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. molasses
1/2 lb. shortening
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. ginger
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 egg
1 Tbsp. black pepper
Preparation

Sift soda and baking powder into the flour, add egg, molasses and sugar together, then beat in flour and milk and flavoring. Bake in a cake mold which insures thorough cooking through the center.
