Angel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening, butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    sifted powdered sugar
Preparation
    Cream shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well.
    Add egg, beat well.
    Combine flour, soda and cream of tartar; gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mix well.
    Add vanilla, mix well.
    Chill dough, shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in powdered sugar.
    Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 275\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes; cool on rack.
    Yields 4 dozen.
