Orange Cake-Candy Slice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 (8 oz.) box dates
    1 lb. orange slices candy, cut up
    1 can flaked coconut
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Add flour alternately with buttermilk.
    Roll nuts, candy and dates in 1/2 cup flour (1/2 cup in addition to the listed amount).
    Add to mixture along with coconut.
    Bake in tube pan at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
    After the cake is done, mix 1 cup orange juice with 2 cups confectioners sugar and pour over cake while hot.
    Let set in pan overnight.
