Southern Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 stick oleo
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. milk
    fresh, frozen or canned, wet pack, unsweetened fruit (tart cherries, raspberries, strawberries or blueberries, etc.)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Take casserole and put the oleo in it; melt in oven as it preheats.
    Mix sugar with flour and baking powder.
    Add milk; stir real good (thin batter).
    Pour into casserole.
    Open can or package of fruit; pour contents into the center of batter.
    Do not stir!
    Put in oven.
    Cake will come to the top.
    Bake about 45 minutes.
    Garnish with hard sauce (oleo mixed with confectioners sugar).
    Serves 6.
