Date Pineapple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/3 c. honey
    1 c. crushed pineapple, not drained
    1 (7 1/2 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Grease a 7 x 11-inch cake pan.
    Preheat oven to moderate 350\u00b0. Cream butter or margarine with brown sugar and eggs at high speed of electric mixer, guiding mixture into beaters with rubber scraper, until light and creamy.
    Sift flour; measure and sift with baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with honey to the creamed mixture. Stir in crushed pineapple, chopped dates and walnuts.
    Pour into prepared pan.
    Bake 35 to 40 minutes.
    When cool decorate with a thin sugar icing made by adding one tablespoon boiling water to 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar.
    Cut into 24 bars.
