Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 qt. half and half
    3/4 c. milk
    4 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar in milk; heat, but do not boil.
    Add beaten eggs and vanilla.
    Add enough half and half to fill can.
    This is for a 1-gallon hand turned or electric freezer.
