Cranberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
juice and grated peel of 1 orange
2 Tbsp. melted shortening
1 well beaten egg
2 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, cut in half
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Combine orange juice, peel, shortening and enough water to make 3/4 cup liquid.
Stir in egg. Pour into dry ingredients.
Mix just enough to dampen.
Fold in nuts and cranberries.
Spread into pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inch, higher around the outside edges.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes. Slices best the next day.
